MidFirst Bank and Caddo Kiowa Technology Center team up for third year to provide the Child Protect Program
Fort Cobb, OK – March 16, 2007 – This year marked the third year for the Child Protect Program, which is sponsored by Caddo Kiowa Technology Center and MidFirst Bank.
“It has been a successful project,” reported Stephanie Prince, Criminal Justice instructor. “This year we gave out almost 1100 child identity packets, which is about double what we did last year and about triple what we did our first year.”
The program was offered during CareerTech Month (February), with the following schools participating in the project: Apache, Binger-Oney, Fort Cobb-Broxton, Carnegie and Lookeba-Sickles.
The identity kits are free and include a fingerprint card, picture and home DNA kit. Criminal Justice and Business and Computer Technology students work jointly on the project. Organizers Susan Biddy, Stephanie Prince and Tricia Pierce are already working with schools in the district to schedule next year’s program.
Caddo Kiowa Technology Center also started an Ink Cartridge and Toner Recycling program to help with the costs of the program. So anyone who would like to contribute can bring their old ink cartridges or toners to Susan Biddy’s office in the Business and Computer Technology Building.
Caddo Kiowa Technology Center's campus is located in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. Additional information about programs and services at CKTC is available at www.caddokiowa.com, and statewide information is available at www.okcareertech.org.
