Three Caddo Kiowa Technology Center students competed for top Regional honors at the SkillsUSA competition held Thursday, February 8 at Canadian Valley Technology Center in Chickasha. Going up against students from Red River Technology Center, Duncan and CVTC, Chickasha were David Jackson, Carnegie, Cecilio Saldivar, Anadarko and Andrew Hammons, Cyril.
The competition consisted of four parts; Mill, Lathe, Blueprint inspection and a written test. Haliburton sponsored all prize awards and provided judges for the event.
Regional Champion was David Jackson, Carnegie. He received a Starrett Dial Calliper in a wooden case and a tool box. Andrew Hammons, Cyril placed 3rd. Hammons received a Fowler test indicator. Cecilio Saldivar, Anadarko placed fourth. Saldivar received a Chipmaster.
Jackson and Hammons will represent the region at the SkillsUSA state competition in May.
The men are students of Dwayne Norwood, CKTC Precision Machining instructor.
