Caddo Kiowa Technology Center student stuns audience with his musical talents
Fort Cobb, OK – November 11, 2005 – Calling himself a “rolling stone,” Charles Pinezaddleby talks about his decision to make a change in his life: “I’ve always had an interest in computers, so when a seat was available in the Business and Computer program, I jumped on it.”
Business and Computer Technology instructor Charlotte Oswald remarks that she admires those students who are coming to Caddo Kiowa Technology Center later in life.
“We have seen quite a few older students enroll recently who have decided to come back to school. I respect Charles for his decision; he works very hard and is an exceptionally dedicated student,” comments Oswald.
On Friday, Charles had an opportunity to do more than just learn; he performed at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center’s Veteran’ Day assembly.
“As I was arranging for students to participate in the day’s events, someone said ‘Oh, by the way, Charles is an excellent pianist,’” stated Pam McEachern, coordinator of the Veterans’ Day event.
And that he is. He amazed the entire audience with his rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
Pinezaddleby comes from a family of musicians, most are singers. When he was ten, his father asked him if he would like to learn the piano. Charles said, “Yes.” So he went to a school of music for three years and has been playing the piano now for over 40 years.
A Veteran himself, Pinezaddleby, who served two years in the Navy, was delighted to participate in the program.
Caddo Kiowa Technology Center's campus is located in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma. Additional information about programs and services at CKTC is available at www.caddokiowa.com, and statewide information is available at www.okcareertech.org.
