Midfirst Bank sponsors Caddo Kiowa Technology Center’s Child Protect Program

Fort Cobb, OK – February 21, 2006 - MidFirst Bank donated $1,000 to Caddo Kiowa Technology Center’s Child Protect Program. The donation came after MidFirst Bank learned of the program and its outreach.

“We started the program last year by setting up in our seminar center and having children come to us; and it was successful,” remarked Susan Biddy, CKTC’s communications and marketing representative. “But this year we wanted to make it even better; so we took the program out to the communities and provided over 800 children (double what we did last year) with identity packets containing the child’s fingerprints and a picture.”

Criminal Justice and Business and Computer Technology students, along with their instructors Stephanie Crain and Tricia Pierce, went to Hydro-Eakly, Verden, Gracemont and Cyril schools during CareerTech Week.

“The program is not just a CareerTech Week event,” stated Crain, Criminal Justice instructor. “We will come to any school or community in our district; just give us a call, and we will work out a time that we can come to your area.”

Organizers Biddy, Crain and Pierce are currently working on adding DNA packets to the program.

“The DNA packets are costly;” reported Biddy, “As a result we have started an Ink Cartridge and Toner Recycling program to help with the costs of the DNA component. We will take anyone’s old ink cartridges or toners; just drop them by my office in the Business and Computer Technology Building.”

Caddo Kiowa Technology Center's campus is located in Fort Cobb, Oklahoma.  Additional information about programs and services at CKTC is available at www.caddokiowa.com, and statewide information is available at www.okcareertech.org.
