  • Blue Ribbon Event held in honor of Foster Care Awareness Month

    Fort Cobb, OK – May 13, 2013 – Raising awareness of children in foster care is a year-round passion for the staff at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center’s Early Care Center. But during the month of May, a month designated to National Foster Care Awareness, they expect that passion to spread to others. On Friday, the staff, students and children in the center helped decorate the center with blue ribbons.

  • HOSA Students volunteer for highway clean-up

    Fort Cobb, OK – May 13, 2013 – Last week, Caddo Kiowa Technology Center Health Careers chapter of Health Occupations Students of America did their part to help clean up roadsides in the district. Thirteen students and their HOSA Advisor, Bridgit Walker, volunteered to clean up the highway south of Fort Cobb Lake State Park. HOSA members collected almost a dozen bags of litter along the highway.

  • OTA students place at State

    Fort Cobb, OK – May 3, 2013 – Caddo Kiowa Technology Center OTA Health Occupations Students of America recently took part in state competition. Two teams placed first at HOSA State Leadership Conference. Placing in Creative Problem Solving were Jillian Barnes, Altus; Kadree Setzer, Eakly; Kylee Hoffman; Elk City; and Amanda Arrington, Hinton.

  • Caddo Electric Cooperative awarded Partners for Progress

    Fort Cobb, OK – May 3, 2013 – -Oklahoma Technology Center staff and industry partners converged on the Oklahoma Capitol recently to recognize outstanding businesses who work alongside tech centers to build better Oklahoma communities. Accepting the “Partners for Progress” award given by Caddo Kiowa Technology Center was Caddo Electric Cooperative, Binger, Oklahoma. Representing Caddo Electric at the ceremony was Oscar Codopony, Director of Operations.

    Fort Cobb, OK – April 29, 2013 – Eighteen members of the WVLP Class XIX recently held their last session and graduation. WVLP is a year-long leadership program designed to identify, develop, and motivate future leaders in the district. Class topics range from government to agriculture to economic development.

    Fort Cobb, OK – April 29, 2013 – Caddo Kiowa Technology has made several changes in the last four years. One of the latest involved moving the BITE program to a different location. The program has occupied Building 800 for many years but is now housed in Building 1000.

    Fort Cobb, OK – April 19, 2013 – Marisa Halbrooks and Dennis Ruttman joined 23 other Oklahomans who were honored at the 19th Annual Making It Work Day at the Capitol. The event, sponsored by the Oklahoma Career and Technical Educators Equity Council, was held on April 10 at the Oklahoma State Capitol Blue Room. Halbrooks, a student at Caddo Kiowa Technology Center and Redlands Community College, received the Outstanding Student Award.

  • Volunteers dedicate a day for clean-up efforts

      Fort Cobb, OK – March 11, 2013 – In October of 1864, the Tonkawa Indian Massacre occurred 2.5 miles south of Anadarko, giving the hills of that region their name: The Tonkawa Hills. At that time and up to 1901, Anadarko was Indian Reservation land. To this day, Anadarko is known as the Indian Capital of the Nation; and for many years, the National Hall of Fame for Famous American Indians and the Anadarko Visitors Center has welcomed thousands of people who entered Anadarko from the east.

  • NTHS Inducation Ceremony

    Fort Cobb, OK – March 5, 2013 – CKTC’s National Technical Honor Society hosted its annual Induction Ceremony on March 5, 2013, in the Wray Finney Seminar Center. NTHS students are recognized for their talents and abilities in Career and Technical Education and have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.5. In addition, they are a member of their respective Career and Technical Student Organization, as well as a second year student in their program.

  • CKTC students receive Otha Grimes Scholarship

    Fort Cobb, OK – March 7, 2013 – The Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education awarded nine CKTC students the Otha Grimes Memorial Scholarship. OTA students receiving this honor are Jillian Barnes (Altus), Lindsey Daingkau (Anadarko), Abbie Flinn (Wichita Falls) and Lindy Gann (Headrick).           Business Information Technology Education students receiving this honor are Lucinda Wolf (Cement), Bonnie Beeson (Apache) and Julia Lewis (Fort Cobb).

  • CKTC gives Louie White Essential Piece award

    Fort Cobb, OK – March 7, 2013 – Caddo Kiowa Technology Center's Essential Piece Award for the first semester was awarded to Louie White. The award is voted on by CKTC staff and is given to an employee who has displayed exemplary customer service to customers and co-workers. Louie received a gift basket, certificate, and an Essential Piece pin.

  • CKTC students attend NTHS “Day at the Capitol"

    Fort Cobb, OK – March 5, 2013 – Members of Caddo Kiowa Technology Center’s National Technical Honor Society recently attended the NTHS “Day at the Capitol.” Members toured the capitol, visited with legislators about current issues, and met with other NTHS members from around the state. NTHS honors excellence in workforce education. The society is the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in workforce education.

  • CKTC is rewarded for energy efficiency

    TULSA, Okla., November 20, 2012 – Caddo Kiowa Technology Center in Fort Cobb has received an incentive check for $7,194.90 from Public Service Company of Oklahoma (PSO) for participation in PSO’s Smart Schools program. Smart Schools is offered by PSO to help education facilities reduce operating costs by identifying and implementing energy efficiency improvement projects. The amount of the incentive is determined by the total amount of energy that will be saved by those improvements.

  • Three Veterans enroll in CKTC’s PTA program

    Fort Cobb, OK – October 15, 2012 –This year, Caddo Kiowa Technology Center has three students enrolled in PTA who are also former military. Daniel and Michael Lundy are brothers whose goal was to follow in their mother’s footsteps as a physical therapist. Their acceptance into the PTA program at CKTC in Fort Cobb is a move in that direction.

  • Graduate receives Certified Crop Adviser certification

    Fort Cobb, OK – October 8, 2012 – Richard Metscher of Clinton Coop has recently been certified by the American Society of Agronomy as a Certified Crop Adviser (CCA). To attain this prestigious certification Richard passed both an International CCA Exam and the Oklahoma CCA Exam, has worked for a number of years as a crop adviser, and provided documentation of professional competence. As a Certified Crop Adviser Metscher has signed and agreed to uphold the CCA Code of Ethics.
