Position:

Food Services/Culinary Arts Instructor
|
|
Primary Function:
|
To provide instruction, classroom management, placement, and professional relationships relating to instruction in the food services and culinary arts field.
|
|

Minimum Qualifications:
|
Required: Qualified for Provisional Certificate and Pursuit of Bachelors’ Degree
Preferred: Standard Vocational Teaching Certificate in related field and two years work experience in related field, Work Keys Credentials

Responsibilities:
General:
|
- Maintain good communications and work cooperatively with all co-workers and administrative staff.
- Perform various other duties assigned by the supervisor within the physical constraints of the position.
- Ability to lead initiatives, work well with others, and attend to several tasks simultaneously. Reliable, dependable, and punctual attendance.

|
Essential:
|
- Manage classroom and students using Teacher/Leader Effectiveness (TLE) standards.
- Serve as advisor for student organization.
- Conduct employment and placement activities and complete follow-up for all students.
- Coordinate work based learning experience.
- Counsel students concerning attendance, classroom progress, employment opportunities, and school policies/procedures.
- Organize Business Education Council and maintain close working relationship with business and industry.
- Attend all local staff meetings, conferences and approved professional development training at the local, district and state levels.
- Coordinate catering for internal customers and external customers.
- Coordinate purchases and maintain supplies/equipment.
- Supervise, evaluate and conduct staff meetings.
- Recruits interviews and hires staff.
- Orientates staff on the guidelines set forth by Licensing and Regulatory Services.
- Design and /or modify curriculum for individual learning.
- Review and update all curriculum to maintain alignment with approved ODCTE duty task list and industry standards.
- Articulate curriculum with higher education.
- Review and update all curriculum to maintain alignment with industry standards.
- Conduct workshops and seminars as needed.
- Develop Individual Growth Plan for Professional Development and set leadership goals for staying on cutting edge of education and technology.
- Maintain good communications and work cooperatively with all co-workers, administrative staff and classified personnel.
