- The Caddo County Basketball Tournament is one of the oldest tournaments in the state (can be traced back to 1945).
- Early 1960s: Garvin Issacs (Apache) had a scoring battle with Gary Gray (Fort Cobb). Issacs scored 47 points and Gray scored 48 in the finals of the tournament. Mr. Issacs went on to become a prominent attorney in Oklahoma City. Gary Gray played college ball at Oklahoma City University.
- 1963-1965: Johnny Bench (Binger) dazzled fans with his basketball athletics. Bench made Cincinnati’s Major League roster in 1968 and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in January 1989.
- 1977: Mike Moore (Eakly), who played professional baseball for Oakland and Detroit after graduating from high school, displayed his basketball talents while playing in the tournament.
- 1988: Shelly Mooter (Oney) broke the high school girls’ state scoring record with 4,449 points.
- 1972-1973: Brothers Jimmy and Joey Edelen (Gracemont) were named All-State.
- 1985-1986: Lookeba-Sickles girls won the State Championship title for Class B one year and the State Runner-Up in Class A one year, but did not win the Caddo County Tournament either year.
- Finalists of the Caddo County Tournament are consistently contenders in the state play-off games.
- 2006: Fort Cobb-Broxton swept the Junior High and High School County Tournaments (to date this has never been done in the tournament by any other school).
- 1994-1997: Wendi Willits played on 4 teams that won the tournament and played in the NCAA Final Four at Arkansas then went on to win a WNBA championship.
- 1996-1999: Current Angel’s outfielder, Reggie Willits (Fort Cobb-Broxton) not only excelled in baseball but also in basketball.
