Caddo Electric Cooperative donates

Fort Cobb, OK – January 13, 2012 – Over Christmas break, Caddo Electric Cooperative gave CKTC’s FIRST Team 2373 a check for $1000.

Currently FIRST Team 2373 is preparing for the Oklahoma City Regionals in late March. The team has six weeks to design, build and test their robot. Practicing time management, money management and teamwork, the students and instructors dedicate many hours in class and after class to accomplish the task they’ve been given.

High school students enrolled in CKTC’s Pre-Engineering program learn about math, science, technology, programming and critical-thinking and problem-solving skills as they prepare for competition. The three-day, regional competition consists of two parts. First are the elimination matches and then the finals. The top 24 teams compete for the title.FIRST Team 2373 has made it to the finals every year (many teams have competed for years and have never made it to the finals).

“The competitions are expensive and this donation is greatly appreciated,” stated instructor Marcia Harmon. “Caddo Electric is consistently one of the greatest supporters of FIRST Team 2373.”
